I tried to get the Bing Thing to write a funny summary of an article and it replied:

Lucky you. But maybe you can get a hold of that old MS chatbot they had to shut down because it quickly went awry a couple years ago. It pissed off everybody from the sounds of it.

@Kent_Sharkey i would classify Kent as mythic beast as Argus Panoptes ... 100 eyes, all-seeing ... [^]. But, that giant, after being a faithful spy, did get a fatal deal from spymaster Zeus, and his hit-man, Hermes.

If I find myself in the situation of being replaced by an AI and not finding anything else... I guess that it will actually be the minor of my problems, because the world will be heading south really bad

You deny Kent Sharkey contains multitudes ? Strange coming from someone who litters Insider News and CP with content-free. or signature only, comments.

I might litter the Insider News with content-free or signature only comments, but... if you really are that assidous to the insider... you will see that many of my comments are the only post for many of Kent's news. The main reason I do it is to signalize Kent: You are not here alone, I like what you do and I interact with you. I could now answer: I am sorry that my coments are missing the needed philosophical depth and length to be of your appeal... But I won't. I could now answer: If you think that your metaphysic and sometimes highly intrincate posts that not even all english native speakers can understand, are much better... you are wrong. But I won't. I will just say: If you don't like what I write, the easiest solution is... just jump over my posts :) You will be happier without getting insulted by the simplicity of my comments and I won't need to read such snobbish answers. I whish you a really nice day. See you around.

With a little luck, you might be safe for another couple years until they scrap the new version. On a serious side note: The first (free / test) versions of ChatGPT were fed with the content of the internet until a couple of years ago. Is the pay version still the same? Or did it get updated with the content of the internet up to now? I might look it up, I know... I am just plain lazy right now.

I don’t think they’ve updated it yet. They’re probably waiting for 4.0, or whatever they call the next one. I did hear that the Bing variant can reach out to the internet to answer questions, but I don’t think it adds to the corpus. (Also too lazy to confirm all that)
