You posted a link to a github project and just said you couldn't download the readme file. What does that have to do with Codeproject.com? This forum is for bugs with the site, not github.

Oh, I did know. You just didn't specify that particular functionality is what you were having a problem with, nor did you mention the article you're working with.

Sorry but... As whole text in the original post:

                  Quote:

Subject: This repository doesn't appear to have a Readme to import. Body: While trying to Import GitHub Project: [Link to your Github]

Analysis on how I understand your message: This repository --> Link to Github doesn't (appear to) have a Read me --> The repository you are linking, hence in Github. while trying to import --> The time scope for the action "doesn't have" is bigger than the action "while trying" (other example: He doesn't watch TV, while eating) Sorry, but only reading your first message, it is not so difficult to understand it as Dave did. If he hadn't commented first, I would have said exactly the same. This doesn't read for me as "Codeproject is failing to import the readme file of my project: [Link to Github]" or The readme file of my Github project [Link] is not getting imported in Codeproject These sentences are more or less the same length than your message but they are more direct and leave less room for wrong interpretations. Extra Feedback: I interprete your answers to Dave quite arrogant. Instead of just repeating / confirming the information youu wrote, you could have directly explained with other wording in the first answer and everything would have been good. So... YOU be more carefult next time while posting a potential bug, this way you will avoid missunderstandings and or disscusions. Thank you :)

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

If your investigation would have stepped at least one level deeper, you would have easily found out that this is not the first time this error message appears in this forum. Here is the proof Search[^] So, administration of the Codeproject.com is definitely aware of this exact bug, and there is no reason to pollute topic with unnecessary information. All the info that is needed (repo link) I have provided. If you don't understand how this forum works, sorry is not my fault. So please, be careful next time when you blame people.

Has nothing to do with the content of my message. I haven't told anything about the bug. Only about the way you have written your message and why I think the missunderstanding with Dave happened.

As if they had nothing else to do that to remember every single message they recieve here (specially when the last time is almost 1.5 year ago).

I think I understand way better how this forum works than you. Specially considering the tone of your messages. It is good that you give feedback about something not working fine, but please be clear of one thing, you have no right to demand anything.

That's something you should apply more urgently than me :) The only "blame" I did was the last sentence in my previous message, and I used the very same words you used before to Dave, only that applying them to you with an advice, after having given you a neutral explanation about why your message is not concrete enough and gives room to missunderstandings. Instead of accepting it as a constructive feedback, you continue arguing and answering in an unpleasant tone. I am going to step back and leave it here, I have no intention of ruining my mood because of you. Have a nice weekend :)

Assuming you write code for a living or even work in IT with some troubleshooting capacity, I'm sure you understand that providing proper and complete context for the more accurate debugging experience is a major help. Looking at your original post, you typed as little as you possibly could to vaguely convey a problem with little to no context and no steps to repro the problem. After being here for 21 years, I cannot tell you how many times the regulars here see posts, just like yours, short on text, like you're get paid by keystrokes you save.

I'm absolutely sure you're trolling. In the original post I have provided exactly the steps this bug appears (While trying to Import GitHub Project). This post was not for you or your friends but for site admins, that's what this forum is for - Bug reports. It's not your personal chat room. Instead of acknowledging your fault, you continue to spam here with absolute inability to help.

Did you though? Or did you just type "import " and assume everyone would know where you started from and how you got to the failure?

Looking at your original post, you typed as little as you possibly could to vaguely convey a problem with little to no context and no steps to repro the problem.

Yes, but as Dave says, you provided no context, so it is far from obvious why you think this is a problem for Codeproject.
