    Windows Latest[^]:

While the feature initially appeared as “optional” or something that could be easily dismissed, Microsoft is slowly getting aggressive with its new OneDrive backup campaign on Windows 11.

Are you sure you don't want to pay us even more every month?

Are you sure you don't want the entire contents of your PC hacked or given to the NSA?

And give full license to Microsoft to use any or all of your data in any way that they see fit?

The difficult we do right away... ...the impossible takes slightly longer.

One thing I do agree with what Microsoft incorrectly sadid back then... Windows 10 will be the las version of windows (at least in my devices)

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

I will fully backup my 3 TB of data at the awesome speed of 5 Mb/s in upload in approximately 2 months, with no Internet use. Sure thing.

If I wanted my stuff on the "cloud", I would have put it there long before MS came up with this "new, improved" cr@p of theirs. :|

Since I have a Microsoft 365 subscription (Office is actually cheaper this way than buying new every five years), I turned this on. To ensure my data is always available on my machine I set the main folders of Desktop, Documents, Pictures, and Music to always keep on my machine. This setting allows me to use my laptop offline should I need to do so. It took the OneDrive application over a week to upload everything.

Enjoy the little phone bill when you are abroad, use your phone for connecting to the internet with mobile roaming data, and your laptop synchronizing a few terabytes...

I just wouldn't enable OneDrive. Like I said, I keep everything on the local machine as well. Also, my OneDrive is configured to not sync when on a metered connection.
