In a last-ditch effort, the Wales-based software engineer filed a lawsuit against Newport City Council for roughly 495.31 million British pounds, or about $647 million, in damages for repeatedly denying his request to excavate the landfill site housing the discarded hard drive, which contains around 8,000 units of Bitcoin

He should go get a loan and excavate it himself! He'll make bank when he finds the drive! (And it is unreadable because a Cat drove over it a couple times and crushed the plates.)

It has been in the landfill for 11 years. :omg:

Yeah, I am thinking that it is probably unreadable.

To be fair, back then it would have been max a couple of 10x... but I do give you that, if you invest in something, you should keep track of it... and if not, do not complain, your fault.

Are you still on the staff, or do you have a contact who is? I need a little assistance.

Sorry, but no. The one person I thought was left doesn’t seem interested in helping people. I guess all I can suggest is to post in suggestions and bugs and hope they change their mind. :((

Is there only one person left, or just one person who might have been a little bit technical? If it's the person who's labelling all the stuff that's being sold off, I guess we can understand why they won't be too bothered with opening up the servers. Good luck for the future Kent.

I think he "used to be technical", but he's mostly been "the business guy" for a while. There must be others...I keep hoping. :sigh: At least I hope there isn't just someone putting price stickers on everything in preparation for the yard sale.
