Snobs! Where? I'll get my gun. Care to give some examples rather than making such a generalization. To the outsider and the occassional visitor, the lounge and the soapbox can seem a little clique. However that is the same in any long time established community. Spend a little time getting to know the people and you realise that we are an okay bunch.
