I just wasted three days of my life just trying to get an activex control to work properly off a toolbar (you can see my post in the visual c++ forum if you want details). So yeah, I just had to let off some steam at microsoft for that. Granted, I'm new at visual C++ and you have to expect that your first few projects will be hell while you are still trying to figure stuff out, but I never had this much trouble learning a borland product. Their documentation is way better and their whole programming philosophy is just more intuitive and easier to understand. If only I could find a job developing with c++ builder. That'd be nice. But alas, no such jobs exist (I'm sure they do but I've never heard of such a job in my area) Microsoft SUCKS! wanna fight about it? click me[^]

What you are trying to do is obviously possible. Do you think that only brainiacs are able to do what you are trying to do? VACUUM CLEANERS SUCK!

First Jörgen is right. The world wants your money for doing nothing. More easier and intuitive is what you know. I could apply every statement to every product borland, sun, ibm, ... makes. "For as long as I can remember, I have had memories. Colin Mochrie."

Back in the day, Ross Perot was campaigning against the North American Free Trade Agreement, arguing that if it passed we would heard a "giant sucking sound" caused by all the jobs exiting to Mexico.

He he! Irony and you are american... things do change.;P It is always surprising how Cpians are always protective of MS though... but anyway, I do not agree with your post... C++ Builder was quite a good product but I was never impressed by the documentation. I learnt C on Turbo C when MS C was only a command line and yes they were ahead of their time but they have lost their edge. But do persevere on VC++, the IDE is great (the best according to Dr Dobb's)! Good luck!
