I didn't know Rush Limbaugh dropped out of college. Funny enough, I tend to compare Rush Limbaugh and Michael Moore (while on different sides of the political spectrum, they are pretty ignorant and they gain quite an emotional following by bashing people and ideas on the other side of the political spectrum). Now to hear that they both dropped out of college in the first year makes the comparison even better. ------------------------------------------ Law of Nazi Analogies: As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one. In any debate, Hitler's opinion on the subject is automatically the evil one, so it had better be contrary to the side you're arguing.

I've never been a big Limbaugh fan, but I have always found it odd that those who never listen to him can be so critical. Limbaugh is no extremist, his show essentially promotes main stream conservatism, capitalims and individualism. So, I suppose I understand why the left wing extremist amoung us feel so threatened by it. Limbaugh openly confesses that he was never a good student. His passion, from an early age, was to be a radio announcer, especially a sports announcer, so he never cared much for anything else. I don't know where you get the "never reads much" info. He comes from a family of very successful lawyers, so his family certainly enjoys a certain amount of academic achievement. I certainly don't believe the man is illiterate. If it is proven that he broke the law than he should be punished accordingly. However, since the same behavior has been tolerated with a wink and a nod among the Hollywood elite for decades, maybe a few of them can be carted off with him.

Listen to the guy once or twice and you'll see what I mean.

You'll have to check local listing to get a station (it will be on the AM dial). As to the drugs stuff, I certainly do not defend him on it, except that it appears to have begun innocently enough with a legitimate need for legal pain killers (following difficult back surgery). But, yes, he certainly violated principles he has espoused for a long time now in how he dealt with his growing addiction to that medication.

Definately, letting him continue broadcasting, potentially with a newly-humbled view of addiction, drug abuse, and the hell that can be "pain management"... would be a bad thing. Wouldn't want to risk opening anyone's mind.

I don't know how old you are, but if you have lived as long as I have you come to realize that a college education is only a small part of what makes someone a success. The rest comes from hard work, good decisions, a few failures and a little luck. I don't care what your political background is, if you are honest, you have to admit Rush is a success. You seem to be like other people I have met, you say you don't like what he says and in the same breath admit you have never listened to him. Is that how your education taught you to make decisions? As for the other part of your rant...have you ever lived with chronic back pain? If you haven't, then you are in no position to judge. am sorry if you infered from my statement, that i was saying a college education is all there is to education...only if i wasn't aware of the Bill Gates,Steve Wozniacks,Wright Brothers.....the point i was trying to make is that, him being a public figure who is listened to by so many people, the least he should have done to legetimize his insight will be a college education. even if he had graduated from college but still holds the views he holds, i'll still consider him uneducated.there's nothing in his history that will convince me he knows enough to pass the judgement on social issues as he deos.he usta be a radio jockey doing what those guys on Z100 zoo do.his insights are rather narrow. as for my comment about his drug problem, i don't think u read all my post, because u'll see i wasn't trying to judge his conduct but rather refering to him judging unders with similar problems. he is known for suggesting there is no desease such as addiction, and those who brake the law by using drugs should go to jail.while i don't listen to him..i have read alot about him and what he stand for.gee..u really got me writing :) hope this clears up the air..am using a different Alias btw...from my sucky job.
