I believe it is the opposite direction from Nouth. Nah, it's a contraction of the archaic expression "sent forth" as in, "the king sent forth his army...", i.e., "the king sorth his army..." ;) What a piece of work is man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable . . . and yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust? -- Hamlet, Act II, Scene ii.
