I watch CSI and have noticed they all seem to drive two ton monstrosties. I know it is steroetypical, but sometimes stereotypes arise for a reason. Elaine :rose: The tigress is here :-D

    Stereotypes arise out of ignorance.

Compared to prices below $1 just a couple of years ago, it sux. Our monthly bill for gas has gone up about $30-$40 since then. That's a significant dent in the pocketbook for me. That means no eating out or buying computer software, etc.

A best-selling vehicles for 2003 list. http://autos.msn.com/advice/article.aspx?contentid=4022358&src=windowshopping[^] The top 3 are trucks, which each average only about 16 MPG. So the stereotype isn't that far out there. The thing is, as a consumer most decisions are made primarily based on economics. Since gas is cheap and these vehicles are typically more useful than a compact car, there is no incentive other than a sense of duty to the environment to purchase more efficient cars. Also, we've got plenty of parking space available, so we don't need to be concerned about the super tight parking garages found in Europe. BW CP Member Homepages

Your still paying WAYY less than half of what the rest of us in the world are paying. God I'm sick of Americans whining about the cost of gas. It's your choice of lifestyle, try to live with it in dignity.

Typical American extravagance. The truth be told however, the automobile is an icon of US culture, far more than just a means to get from point A to point B. In our society, your car is largely a reflection of your personality (and in many cases, your status). Here you can judge many people by the car (or truck) they drive. ~Nitron.
