That 500,000 to 800,00 women march[^] to protect their right to kill? Of course they currently have that right but what concerns them is the recent change that eliminates (AKA partial birth abortion) the right to suck the brains out of an unborn child to effect an abortion. What I find odd is when rednecks bomb abortion clinics, apparently willing to kill people who are husbands or wives, fathers or mothers, and claim to value life. I presume the same people cry for the rights of the maladjusted child that was not wanted and who is raised to know it after they have broken into their home and run off with their stuff, possibly stabbing their spouse on the way. Protect their right to determind their own fate. Protect their right to be full and equal members in society. Maybe Bush and co. would like to see women bare foot and pregnant and weighed down with a cluster of children because then they won't be able to make it to the polls to vote democrat. If Bush cared about children he'd fund education properly, if he cared about children he'd make sure that poor single mothers didn't have to work 3 minimum wage jobs leaving their children home alone just to put food on the table and then blame them for how their kids turn out. If he cared about reducing abortion he'd insist on more sex education in schools and would be handing out condoms himself. But Bush doesn't care about women, children or abortion.

You've hit the nail on the head - abortion is only necessarly because women are, apparently, too stupid to figure out how birth control works. Christian I have drunk the cool-aid and found it wan and bitter. - Chris Maunder

You've obviously never experienced birth control devices failing on you and your partner Christian. If a condom splits it's pretty obvious that it's failed and you need to do something immediately...the same isn't true for other contraceptives. On the contrary, I've ripped plenty of condoms off and thrown them across the room. I know the pill will fail if you're taking some medications, but I don't believe it fails intermittently, or unpredictably. Yeah, why shouldn't a guy be able to force a woman to bare his child when a woman can't force a man to not completely disappear and leave her holding the baby, literally!

Don't get so dramatic. The original comment was about it being disturbing that men would even be interested in having a say regarding abortion. I think that's a sad point of view. we can go in circles all day about certain situations and when it's OK or not to have an abortion, but I wasn't commenting on that, only that it's good for men to be interested enough to want a say, and voice an opinion on this. Why not? I'm single currently, if "by chance" a girlfriend got pregnant with my child, and she did not want to raise a child, I would do all I could to make sure that child was born and placed in my care. BW The Biggest Loser

I went to that march. It isn't funny. The women there represented over 1% of the entire adult female population of this country. I have never seen similar numbers at a rally whose purpose was to force raped women to bear bastard children.

Abortion is completely understandable in limited circumstance, incest being one such circumstance and health another. Abortion used for birth control is a far different matter as is late term abortion, a despicable act. There are any number of willing adoptees, so these women don't have to raise these children. Frankly I find the idea of 800,000 women marching for this cause disgusting. Not to trot out a worn analolgy, but would these same 800,000 march against the death penalty?
