The situation is getting really out of hand. It is acts like this that will produce more terrorists and give more material to the current ones for their propoganda machine. I wish aliens would take me off this planet :) Pankaj Without struggle, there is no progress

So far the military has denied that they fired on a wedding party. They say they even captured a weapons cache at the site. Maybe terrorists were using the party as cover? Its definitely not beneath them to do something like that.

Yeah, you have to take the news with a bit of skeptisism. However, the images shown on TV do not seem to be of a terrorist base. That there were civilian casualties is a fact, regardless of what the military has uncovered. Pankaj Without struggle, there is no progress

That there were civilian casualties is a fact, regardless of what the military has uncovered. I haven't seen the images on TV, but it is pretty damning evidence from what I have read. However, I want to give my military the benefit of the doubt until more information comes out. They weren't dishonest about a similar incident in Afghanistan so I doubt they would be in this incident. It is a common practice for terrorists and iraqi insurgents to hide among innocents, which I consider cowardly and despicable, so I would not be surprised if there were hostiles at the "party".

First, what the hell are people doing firing guns in a war zone? At military aircraft no less? Second, who holds a wedding party 10 miles from the Syrian border and 80 miles from the nearest city? I believe this was, in fact, a safe house and was being used to smuggle arms into the country and someone involved in the operation was either having a wedding or staging one. Using women and children as shields is modus operandi for these militants. Anyone who thinks he has a better idea of what's good for people than people do is a swine. - P.J. O'Rourke

"The body of a girl who appeared to be less than 5 years of age lay in a white sheet, her legs riddled with wounds and her dress soaked in blood." Wow, sounds like really balanced reporting! Just the facts please. We thought we had a major target filled with terrorists. What do we do? Attack or not attack. If we attack and they are terrorists it is good. If we attack and they are not it is bad. How to respond to the people who never report it when we hit terrorists but when we make a mistake they scream as loud as a little bitch? If we ignore them then the idiots call us arrogant. If we decide never to fire a shot again because we might accidentaly injure civilians then the terrorists win - and they won't even thank the piece of shit reporters who spend all of their time trying to make America look bad. Then there are the pie-eyed morons who say "You have to make absolutely sure before you attack....DUH GEE MOMMY LOOK! A PRETTY FLOWER DOI!!!!" The only way to make sure is to walk up and knock on the door and that is when whoever the poor fool is gets killed and then the same people siding with the terrorists in trying to sap the will of the American people to fight back against terrorism will write a story about how our tactics are failing because one of our soldiers was killed. It may not be PC, but if all of those yellow journalists were to accidentally fall on their heads really hard 30 or 40 times then the world would be a much better place.
