    1. Chalibi passes information on to Iran 2) Pakistan detonates a-bomb with no warning from CIA 3) Many CIA operatives at Abu Graib 4) Ignored many clues and warnings on 9/11 Note that WMD's is not on this list. That was from MI/OSP under the Pentagon, an even _more_ incompetent group of spies. Typical mass media disinformation. ----------------------------- All truth passes through 3 stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

How about maybe what he said it was: he's sick of this crap and wants to spend some time with his family. Power corrupts and PowerPoint corrupts absolutely. - Vint Cerf

ha ha. Call me a cynic but getting him out of the way prior to the elections in November was high on Dubyas list of things to do!

The CIA was definitely in the know about Pakistan's & India's (& Israel's) nuclear programs...It was just that they looked the other way because they had their hands full spying on the Soviet Empire ! There are no failures.. only extended learning opportunities.

According to a conservative site, Bush fired him: when the director challenged the President during the meeting Wednesday, the President cut him off by saying 'that's it George. I cannot abide disloyalty. I want your resignation and I want it now."[^]

I think it was timed to avoid Kerry using him as an example in the election debates. ----------------------------- All truth passes through 3 stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

For the last round of tests that were conducted India did them first. Just to note : India has an offer on the table for a treaty of " No First Use " of Nuclear Weapons with Pakistan. The day that something like that is signed will be a much bigger day than any of the successful test days :) "I believe I referred to her personality as a potential science exhibit." - Elaine, about Ellen, in "The Dog"

Jeff Bogan wrote: Pakistan detonates a-bomb with no warning from CIA Just because ordinary citizens aren't "warned" doesn't mean that the US govt. didn';t know about it. It was in our best interests to act surprised so we couldn't be accused of knowing about it but not preventing it. I wish other nations would quit squandering their resources trying to do what we did 60 years ago by trying to become a "NUCLEAR POWER" ooooooh!!! WOW. You are an important country now!!! All the smart countries don't bother wasting their time. It is ridiculous and noone thinks you would ever use them anyways. Why bother? It is like 9 year old boys trying to wear their father's business suit.
