What's with all these people cheering for god in the tag lines of their posts these days here? Does anyone else find that incredibly annoying or is it just me? Shouldn't that be something personal like having dandruff or do you get brownie points from god the more you shake your personal belief "fist" in everyone else's faces? Most importantly: Can anyone suggest something I can put in my tagline that would really offend the god-squad while still conforming to cp posting rules?

My sister was telling me how there are so many people in Australia that stand on the streets asking if people believe in God, and would they like to hear about God, and wouldn't it be great if they let God into their lives. That would irritate me no end.

Get a life! I read so many things here that I find personally offensive, yet I do not complain. Are you so insecure in your beliefs that you are afraid that someones sig may make you have second thoughts? 1

I keep my religion to myself, but I'm not offended by someone who is religious and wants to try to tell me about it. I see it as no different from you expressing your offense at it. What is sad is that because someone expresses their belief in God (or Allah, or Budda , or little green men) someone would have to get all PO'ed about it. We have a few of those in Bournemouth. They have microphones and amps. They stop people in the street. Fortunately I'm a Catholic, and they hate those more than atheists. Do they honestly think they're going to convert people that way?

I haven't seen any of those. Who are they? Hah ha! Good one! That's along the lines of an aunt of mine who when I was a teenager went through my records telling me which bands were working for Satan. (and no, that's not why I have the attitude towards unwanted proselytization that I have now) I just think that it's one small step on the way to actively dividing people when we really need to be uniting people right now. It's along the lines of "your either with us or your against us". I would love to debate these things with people in a rational discussion, but putting it in a tagline is just about as tacky and annoying as putting a bobblehead Jesus on your dashboard isn't it? Markus Naslund is a *very* devout christian, however I have never heard him once say "I thank god for giving us this win today" as you are often likely to hear. I think he is an admirable example for other christians and does more for the cause than a million athletes constantly bringing it up in every interview etc. It's a similar thing.

;P Funny, but show me a post that ends with "Allah is great, here is a website to go see about it" or "Buddha is great, here is a website you should go to" Why does a religion need to be peddled like dishwasher detergent or mutual funds anyway?

Hah ha!

It's along the lines of "your either with us or your against us". There are many sorts of small steps that are taken to divide, whether because of ignorance or malicous intent. As you can do little to restrain others in this regard, it is best to watch your own actions. The steps you take can divide or unite as much as those of anyone else...

Whats wrong in expressing what you believe in? By saying that you might as well as be offended about what you wrote cause thats what you believe/think at this moment. Just to make you happy here: "For God so loved the world he gave his only son, for who so ever believeth in him shall not parish but have everlasting life." John 3:16 -Steven Hicks
