Who leaked? - ok what's vote-worthy about this???

BLITZER: Let's talk about some of the people who have been picked up, mostly in Pakistan, over the last few weeks. In mid-July, Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan. There is some suggestion that by releasing his identity here in the United States, you compromised a Pakistani intelligence sting operation, because he was effectively being used by the Pakistanis to try to find other al Qaeda operatives. Is that true? RICE: Well, I don't know what might have been going on in Pakistan. I will say this, that we did not, of course, publicly disclose his name. One of them... BLITZER: He was disclosed in Washington on background. RICE: On background. And the problem is that when you're trying to strike a balance between giving enough information to the public so that they know that you're dealing with a specific, credible, different kind of threat than you've dealt with in the past, you're always weighing that against kind of operational considerations. We've tried to strike a balance. We think for the most part, we've struck a balance, but it's indeed a very difficult balance to strike."
FYI: "on background" means "this is true, and you can use it, but don't attribute it to me!!". no, really, it does: http://slate.msn.com/?id=1003063[^]. maybe in Condi's world that means the same thing as "not in public". Software | Cleek

Sorry. I voted a "1" because it read like something mystro_aka_kookie would post. I have no idea about the point of this post, but I'm sure it has something to do with your pink underwear. OP

it's a transcript of an interview our National Security Advisor did with Wolf Blitzer of CNN. someone recently leaked the name of an al-queda double agent, which apparently comprimised operations in Britain and Pakistan. there's reason to believe the name was leaked inadvertantly by Ms. Rice or someone she works with. but, if you don't understand things like this, maybe you should spend more time paying attention to current events and less time voting on things you don't understand. hmm? or, did you actually have a point? it almost frightens me to think of how many anonymous lurking voters there must be out there. i can't think of 16 people on this board who would give a shit one way or the other about an interview with Condi Rice, let alone have a strong enough opinion to vote on it. there's probably an army of nameless voiceless fraidycats out there. :) just kidding - c'mon you guys! step into the light! let yourselves be heard! > there's reason to believe the name was leaked inadvertantly by Ms. Rice or someone she works with. there's also reason to believe you're an idiot with way too much time on your hands. but hey, if it's on the internet, it must be true. oh wait, that's only if i can find 5 or more links to it, that's right... oh yea, and one has to be some un-biased source like al-jazerra or the BBC. i'm sick of the soapbox being your little platform for political bullshit, so i thought i'd serve my place in the world and quiet you down by smacking you in the head with a big, fat, virtual "1". hmph... lot's of good that did X| OP

Do you ever wonder if Anonymous / pseudonym surfers are actually political campaign volenteers, surfing the 'net to fake grassroot support for some issue or another? It's not impossible. ----------------------------- All truth passes through 3 stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
