So, do you use anything but a 1 or a 5 when rating messages in the soapbox? 1 - I use all 5 options (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) 5 - I only use 1 and/or 5 (yes, I expect this to be the majority) Just curious. :-D I never use anything except 1 or 5. Marc MyXaml Advanced Unit Testing

I'll go first. +5 I think that means I'm binary, on or off. Mike "liberals are being driven crazy by the fact that Bush is so popular with Americans, and thus by the realization that anyone to the left of center is utterly marginal." JAMES TRAUB NY Times "I don't want a president who is friends with France or Germany" Me "I plan to vote for Kerry before I vote against him." Me "There you go agin." RR

Mostly 1 and 5, sometimes 4. 3 seems to be netural, so unless I'm rating ALL messages I see no reason for it. Its the same as unratted to me. 2 is below average, but interesting. I see no reason for it. Besides, I don't like to be that mean, if I can help it. 1 means don't waste your time reading this, a message to others. I'm trying to use 4 more often for things that are interesting, but not top quality.

3 or 5 5 means I like it, 3 means someone else liked what I didn't like. - IMHO rating something a 1 or 2 would be over controlling and not respecting freedom of speech. Regardz Colin J Davies Attention: It's finally arrived, The worlds first DSP.

Usually use 1,5 Have used 3 or 4 but rarely. Can't think of a single reason to use 2. Never have. I vote NULL most of the time. If I have something to object/agree on I reply. Only when I'm really ticked off/excited by a message, do I vote. Words are power. Voting is for the gray mass... -- Suche gut gebauten Achtzehn bis Dreißigjährigen zum Schlachten. Der Metzgermeister

Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: Voting is for the gray mass I dunno about that. They are times, especially Jokes, that I read something that I feel other should read, that I vote it a 5. I suppose I could reply, but sometimes I have nothing worthwhile to add, and adding for the sake of agreeing seems to be wasteful somehow.

Actually, I have to apologize for my diction. The word I was looking for was ambivalent, but I'll be damned if I'll go back and edit it now. It's late, and I've had a long day. Welcome back, Rob; we've missed you.:-D "My kid was Inmate of the Month at Adobe Mountain Juvenile Corrections Center" - Bumper Sticker in Bullhead City

Thanks mate! But I'm not really back, I'm on day 31 (not that I'm counting) in The Philippines with no end in sight. (Un)Fortunately my green card expires less than 2 months from now so my employer has to get me back to the US well before then. Rob Manderson I'm working on a version for Visual Lisp++
