^ fromt the article: "I consider the activities of terrorists in Iraq are not as much aimed at coalition forces but more personally against President Bush (news - web sites)," Putin said at a news conference after a regional summit in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe. "International terrorism has as its goal to prevent the election of President Bush to a second term," he said. "If they achieve that goal, then that will give international terrorism a new impulse and extra power." In other words Kerry is good for the terrorist. From article: Still, Putin didn't say which candidate he favored in the Nov. 2 U.S. presidential election. "We unconditionally respect any choice of the American people," he said. "I don't want to spoil relations with either candidate." Looking for me in cyberspace? I am the electron with the red hat, occupying 3rd sit on the left of the data bus. by the way, perl stinks. -->And, much like you, he is entitled to his opinion. Which i have no quams about. Except that he says what he said and later stated he isn't supporting any canidate. As if he's speaking to Billy Humphrey ("a poor and naive country boy who got caught up in the dirty politics of global deplomacy and international intrigue" or something like that).:) It's a Sienfeld joke if you'r wondering. Putin is one of Bush's greatest supporters simply because he has his own terrorism problem with the Chechens and he doesn't want any international criticism of the way he is handling it. John Carson

Another parameter for Putin: getting Bush support for Belarus and Ukraine (cf. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A43723-2004Oct18.html[^] - l/p: bob@bob.cp/bobcp)
