If you are an American, start buying those gold certificates: Deficit and the Dollar[^]

Being lectured by the president on fiscal responsibility is a little bit like Tony Soprano talking to me about law and order in this country. John Kerry

If the dollar drops lower, maybe I'll come over and spend some money. If it reaches 6:1 (SEK:USD), I'm already on the plane.. :) -- Weiter, weiter, ins verderben. Wir müssen leben bis wir sterben.

Two points: WWII years should not be included - that was world war spending, the fiscal world was temporarily slaved to the government agenda. And many debts were forgiven on the eve of the war. Also, the executive branch is the more important of the three. Although Congress approves the budget via the Ways and Means Committees, the executive sets it out. Your graph clearly shows that Reagan/Bush dynasty is the worst offender. There should also be some acknowlegement of the fact that deficits are incremental - a barchart of the accumulating debt should be shown as well.

What, you still have Kroners? I thought the Euro was adopted for Sweden.

Yeah. Thanks to narrow minded semi-nationalistic lefties we did not join the EMU. X| -- Weiter, weiter, ins verderben. Wir müssen leben bis wir sterben.
