Hi I may have to write my own media player. I'd like to use Microsoft's WMP or DirectShow, but apparently i've got no other choice. What do i have to think about writing an own media player? Or can you refer to a text about my plan? Thanks

the name of the component you are mentioning is CFCOM by a company named Odyssey or something like that unfortunately, that extension isn't free of charge, and as a student i can't afford it
