What ?!

Number don't lie :) Like become a nuclear physicist: 12 years High School -at least 8 years university ( probably more PHD needed )- then you get to work in either Gov research or teach. Salary tops 100K. Stripper: 12 years school - between 150K and 250K salary after than- no additional schooling needed. So the stripper is about 1,000,000.00 ahead from the get go. If she can continue for 15 years ( 18+15=33 ) at an average of 200,000.00 per annum the stripper makes 3000000.00 the physicist makes about 1500000.00. So the stripper saves 1/2 of her salary = 1500000 at 5% = 75000 per annum interest income with no growth. With any kind of luck and financial advice she will probably retire at the age of 34 with an annual income of around 100K. Damn!! I should have been a girl with a pair of 38's. Probably. But I'm reasonably certain no one is going to pay money to watch me :-D They might pay to avoid seeing it though "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-01-14-stripping_x.htm[^] I think this is ridiculous. Apart from any other consideration, how long can a person work as a stripper ?! For 10 years ? What are you supposed to do after that ? Become a cocktail waitress or something (worse) ? This sounds weird to me as a career choice. "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

I'm 24. I've been working as a programmer for a little less than two years and I'll happily retire if I had the option :) "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

Ok, stripping, fair enough it's not everyone cup of tea but if you're good at it then why not? Promoting it to fourteen years olds is unlikely to go to down well with conservative parents but it is a valid option. However... I don't get this: " Di Salvo heard about the exchange when the mother of a student called him the next morning. She said she was outraged when her son announced that he was forgoing college for a career in a field he truly loves — fishing. " What the hell is wrong with fishing? She was 'outraged'? :wtf:

What's sick is that this is news. I had a teacher once - substitute, when asked by one of the students (class whore, as I remember) to define "promiscuous", she just turned to the girl and said "It means people who screw a lot of different people", and then continued her lecture. Today, that would be a headline story.

Well, unless its ice fishing, I imagine you would be out there on a boat or something during the day sailing and fishing (or maybe its not that much fun, it sure sounds like fun when you've been sitting in an office since morning staring at a screen) "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."
