No idea, but, quite frankly, if young ladies want to show off their tiny little thongs, then you won't here me bitching about it! he he he. Nowadays it seems that 99% of the female populace wear them - except for my wife of course!

#1 - These people (the Virginia congressmen who propose this law) are dipshits. The current puritanical wave that is sweeping across this country is pathetic. These losers need to mind their own business. #2 - At the same time I don't personally like to see peoples undergarments while walking down the street. The "rap" look IMO is lame. While it should certainly be legal to wear it, I reserve my right to look down on those that do. X| #3 - I think you have it wrong on the "nanny state" thing. While a "nanny state" wouldn't make the attire illegal, it would probably supply the attire freely to those who can't afford it on their own. ;P "Reality is what refuses to go away when I stop believing in it." he he. Well I see the term "nanny state" as overly-intrusive government - and legislation to determine how low you wear your bloody trousers is pretty intrusive!

That's ridiculous. Differnet people find different things offensive. Just because the lawmakers don't like the RAP style (which I don't either, I think it looks ridiculous) doesn't mean they can call it into attention and outlaw it. If enough RAP artists get voted into Parliment can they outlaw stuits ?! "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

On the one hand this seems dangerously silly, but on the other... people who dress like that look bloody stupid anyway so I have mixed feelings about the bill. I've seen people with their trousers so low that they have trouble walking because their leg movements are so restricted - what the fuck do they think they look like?

Yeh they look like twats but it's their choice - a fine for looking like a wanker is a little too far don't you think? (and if ladies want to show off their backsides then I'm not going to complain. Slurp!).

OK, What I think is ridiculous is two things: 1. People seem not to have a concept of "taste", or of "beauty", or of just plain reasonable dress/behavior 2. That government steps in to attempt to legislate those concepts. While I agree that it's absurd to tell people what is "right and wrong" with regards to issues like this, it is equally absurd, in my opinion, that people don't KNOW "right from wrong".
