Check this out. I am a Network Administrator/Programmer for a small manufacturing company. I am the only tech and just found myself in a odd situation. Every morning I get a report from my server about the day before I didnt get one this morning, but not a big deal its Sunday no one is there today no big issue. So I figure I will go buy today. But, first I try to ping the modem or server with no luck and get nothing. So I go to the office to make sure everything is ok for the next morning. Well I get there and my key doesnt work. The locks were definatly changed in the last day. So someone has manually turned off my remote access to everything and changed the locks I did look in the windows and did see stuff still in there(good sign) but I cant see in my office. I think I am getting fired tommorrow.

That sucks. I think you should call your boss, as there might be another explanation. No use getting yourself all worked up with worry if you don't have to.

I hope it works/worked out to be nothing. If you are the only tech guy, how would someone else have known how to lock out your account? Maybe some maintenance workers were changing the security for some other reason and knocked out the server, drilled through a network cable, etc. If it was you getting fired this morning, you would hopefully have seen some signs at the end of last week. Such things aren't just decided on a Saturday night. :rose: At a company I was with a couple of years ago the locks were changed and the alarm code reprogrammed while one guy was out on lunch. He was fired. A year later the locks were changed while a girl was away on holiday. Whenever the security van turned up it was short straws to decide who went out for lunch that day. They tried to fire that girl, but it backfired and the boss lost his job and, subsequently for other reasons, the company died.

How big is this company? If it is a small outfit then maybe it is you. If it is a big one then I doubt it (far too laborious to change the locks and issue everyone with new keys etc.) Maybe the whole company is going bang? That has happened, companies changing the locks and locking everyone out as they went bang or were bought out. regards, Paul Watson South Africa PMW Photography Gary Wheeler wrote: It's people like you that keep me heading for my big debut on CNN...

Well its not me,Yet! But, the plot has thickened, no ones keys work and no one has gotten a new one. When I ask my boss I got a the answer "Ya I had the locks changed." great time to start looking for a new job.
