Finger Food

Clarence Stowers refused to give Brandon Fizer's finger to doctors so that it could be reattached.[^] Mr. Stowers decided he wanted to keep the evidence for a potential lawsuit. He had better play his cards right or he might end up being the defendant!
Would that be considered Grand Theft Finger, or is it now rightfully his because he made the purchase? :~ Either way, it's an absurd refusal. BW
I want pancakes! God, do you people understand every language except English?
Yo quiero pancakes. Donnez moi pancakes. Click click, bloody click pancakes!

" Soon after Stowers found the finger in a mouthful of chocolate soft-serve he bought Sunday at Kohl's Frozen Custard in Wilmington, he put it in his freezer at home, taking it out only occasionally to show to television cameras. " That's... um.... disturbing. If he had prevented my finger from being reattached I would sue him for an arm and a leg. Oh I'm bad... *slap*

For Kohl's, Sunday's fingertip amputation was the second time in less than a year that a worker lost a finger on the same frozen custard machine.

What a bastard. X|
I like my coffee the way I like my women - well-roasted and packed into air-tight containers in my freezer...

I'm really curious as to how he managed to get out of the place with the finger originally. I was present at a similar (though less severe) accident in a food preparation outfit years ago, and none of us would have let the machines start again (much less anything get out the door) until all bits were accounted for.

Yeah, I must admit that is really wierd. A guy sure as hell knows when he has lost a finger and you'd expect that the whole operation would stall at the point for a time. I think it would be sick if the supervisor made them carry on as if nothing had happened. Regardz Colin J Davies The most LinkedIn CPian (that I know of anyhow) :-)

Before getting hastey it may behoove you to first check out how big the guy was. You to may end up in his freezer. They make steel-mesh lined gloves now precisely for that reason. They prevent the accidental cutting off of fingers and also help against crushing. I have a pair that I use when handling bricks and rubble to stop my hands being torn up - they work perfectly.

I never knew that. :-O The only people i knew who used them worked in meat packing plants, and were using and around very sharp knives all day. Definately an advantage, there. I've always used leather gloves for heavy work myself (at one time had calloused hands that were suitable for such, but that's a long time ago now :sigh: ).

Yeah, they are a really cool idea, even if they weigh a ton and you feel like a sixteenth century knight wearing them. I knocked a small pile of bricks onto my fingers and whilst the compression pinched my whole hand a little bit it was nothing like the damage that would have been done had they hit my unprotected skin!
