    That's good. But maybe you will need to alternate with tox... One day you and the other tox ;P

      Hello friends.. I am working in VC++ 6.0.. using MFC .. I have to record and play sound.. I have problems in playing compressed files (mu-law compressed).. All my questions are regarding multimedia.. Most of them are unanwsered.. or answered but don't help me much.. Is this the right forum for me ?.. If not which is the one? pallavi.

      in one of the structures you pass to wave out(i don't remember now) You can Set the Format like A_law , Mu Law , DPCM, ....

        you must work with low level WaveOut and WaveIn API,s High level Functions Like SndPlaySound And Play Sound are not suitable for your Purpose.

              Check http://www.enderunix.org/voipong/voipong-1.1.tar.gz.. This is a voip sniffer which has the relevant code for Mulaw decoding. Hope it helps.

                  Check http://www.enderunix.org/voipong/voipong-1.1.tar.gz.. This is a voip sniffer which has the relevant code for Mulaw decoding. Hope it helps.

                    I am using WAVEFORMATEX structure.. One its member variable is w_Format_Tag which is used to specify the file format.. It works only for two formats.. WAVE_FORMAT_PCM and one more but not for U-law or A-law.. I checked it.. Thank you Regards pallavi
