click me[^] Topless virgins vie for king in AIDS-hit Swaziland Aug 29 12:07 PM US/Eastern By Rebecca Harrison LUDZIDZINI ROYAL VILLAGE, Swaziland (Reuters) - More than 50,000 bare-breasted virgins vied to become the King of Swaziland's 13th wife on Monday in a ceremony which critics say ill befits a country with the world's highest HIV/AIDS rate. King Mswati III, sub-Saharan Africa's last absolute monarch, arrived dressed in a leopard-skin loincloth to watch the Reed Dance ceremony, which he has used since 1999 to pluck new brides from the girls dressed in little more than beaded mini-skirts. Wielding machetes and singing tributes to the king and queen mother, also known as the Great She-Elephant, the girls danced around the royal stadium in the hope of catching the eye of the 37-year-old monarch. "I want to live a nice life, have money, be rich, have a BMW and cellphone," said one dancer, 16-year-old Zodwa Mamba, who wore a traditional brightly colored tasseled scarf. Critics say Mswati, who has courted controversy for his lavish lifestyle while two thirds of his subjects live in abject poverty, sets a bad example by encouraging polygamy and teenage sex in a country where 40 percent of adults live with HIV. ...

  If ever get within striking distance of the Swedish King, I'll be on the ground a microsecond later, with 4 gorillas ontop of me. :) Seriously though, I really dislike the monarchy. He could beat me to death, and he would not be punished for it. He's got judicial immunity. If I as much as fart in his direction, I will be in all sorts of trouble. In the "constitution" (don't know if that's the correct term, but what I'm talking about are the basic judicial laws upon which all laws are based) I think the first law is "All men and women are equal before the law, and should be judged equally". A couple of paragraphs later, another paragraph says that the king cannot be judged and sentenced. That must either mean that all men and women aren't equal, or that the king is neither man or woman. 1) I truly believe that all men and women should be equal before the law 2) If the king is not a man, he's clearly alien, and he should not be the head of state Please note that the king has no powers. He's just a pissy stiff-upper-lip shit-for-brains inbreed non-elected jerk. We could've used the french model a couple of hundred years ago. Unfortunately the french aristocrats fled france and.. TADA - ended up here! The king is of french descent. Not only is he above the law, he's also getting tax payers money to "represent" Sweden. Represent!? He's a mumbling idiot! A certified wacko. Frogs are flying out of his mouth almost as often as it does from Bush's. Incredible. Man, I really get worked up on the monarchy subject. It's a fucking outrage that they've maintained this undemocratic system. The king is to me nothing but a symbol of past wars and oppression. Nemanja Trifunovic wrote: karate stuff Ahem. Karate? Yeah. He managed to smash his fourty thousand gazillion euro BMW into another car the other day. Clueless as he is, he drove with his nose up the arse of the other driver, and had no chance to stop when the car in front of him had to hit the breaks to avoid hitting a girl crossing the road. He should really watch the fuck out. Inbred bastard. I shouldn't be discussing this asshole this time of day. Now I have to calm myself down before I can sleep. Good music: In my rosary[^]

Our royals are asshats too, imagine that. I'm not sure who was worse, Princess Woodentop of Landmine or her idiot of a surviving husband (who now thinks its his job to command us to eat organic food and cure cancer with coffee enemas and homeopathy ). At least he gets less unquestioning adoration from the media. Ryan

The king is of french descent AFAIK, Karl XIV Johan aka Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte wasn't from noble ascent but son of a lawyer. He was even when younger a convinced Republican, which made him a General. Napoleon made him a Field-Marshall and a Prince, but sacked him for his incapacity at the battle of Wagram[^]. Sustained by the Emperor, he became the adoptive son of Charles XIII (I don't know why..do you have some explanations there?), and later "betrayed" Napoleon by joining the Sixth Coalition... and saving by that the interests of his new country. Anyway if you want to send his descent back, I'm sure 'we' will find villas for them on the french Riviera...
