Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him what? Ready???? A super callused fragile mystic plagued with halitosis. It worked Colin. AS you can see it truncates after 51 characters. [[ Colin Wrote :- Did you like him ? ]] First the "Quote Text" is not working!!! Now coming to Gandhi. I didn't like his passive attitude during the fight against Britain. All that talk about Ahimsa was crazy. WE should simply have kept attacking till we actually earned independence. Right it's more like we begged it and got it as charity. Second when India and Pakistan were created the initial idea was that all muslims go to Pak and the rest remain here. Gandhi was against this with the result that a good number of Muslims remained in India. Now I am an atheist and I dont believe in hinduism or islam or christianity. But I am sure that if all the muslims had left for pakistan we would not have so much internal religious struggles and political parties misusing this religious fanatism to win votes. What's funny is in India muslims are considered a minority and enjoy the freedoms given to minorities. But there are 200 millions muslims in india and it's funny that 200 million people are called a minority Other true minorities like the christians and the buddhists lose out here. They lose out their minority benfits to 200 million others. Nish [BusterBoy] wrote: [[ Colin Wrote :- Did you like him ? ]] The quote text works for me but Simon reported earlier that it didn't work for him also. I guess why some of us westerners like Gandhi chap, was that he organised India into embarrassing Britain into giving India independence. I disagree with you in most of the points you have raised Nish. I won't bother to elaborate because we will still continue to disagree even though I am right and you are wrong, and so it won't prove anything and just start a flame war. Regardz Colin J Davies
