Christian Graus wrote: Nish, there is an MVP dinner on Wed night CG, the dinner is only till 10 PM. I am landing Wed night around 8 PM - so by the time I get to my hotel check in and get out, it'll be past 9:30. It's easy for Mike, you and me to meet - we'll have lots of opportunities during the summit - in fact, since we are all VC++ MVPs, the breakout day - we'll all be in the same hall for a full day and probably dinner too. Meeting PJ is the main idea here. He is available on one night - either Tues or Wed. Since I arrive Wednesday night, it'd be cool if we could all meet on Wed. How about after 10 PM? By then, the MVP dinner will be over. PJ, CG, Mike - is this OK with you?

Christian Graus wrote: Sure - who needs sleep ? What do you have in mind ? We'll have eaten, obviously. Ok - that's cool. We can meet somewhere on Wednesday around 9:30-10 PM - all 4 of us. Mike's uncle has given a few suggestions - so we could get to one of those places. I wonder if PJ has a car - if not, we can take a cab I guess. Christian Graus wrote: PJ, will this replace our dinner tonight ? Of course it does - any meetings/dinners planned for before Wed night are now null and void :-) I'll reply to the head post with a message with a new title. So it stands out and people can reply to that.

To anyone attending the MVP conference, or who lives in the general Seattle area, who would like to get together for a bit this is the place to post ideas. The ideal time would be for dinner and drinks on the 27th of september, the day before the conference is supposed to start. If anybody knows of a good restuarant/lounge where everyone could meet speak up please. Lets firm up the date, time and location so people can make plans.

Date : Sep 28 2005 Time : After 9:30 PM I hope this is OK with everyone. Now to pick a pub/restaurant to meet at - I leave this to Mike and PJ who'll know the area better than CG and me. In fact, if we are still undecided about the final meeting place, we could all meetup somewhere and then quickly decide on where to go and take a cab (or PJ may have a car).

Meeting wednesday night at the DoubleTree works for me. You want to meet at 9:30, or would you prefer earlier for supper? I will have my vehicle if we have to drive elsewhere.

That is why I like the laws here in BC, all restaurants are non-smoking, so it is a non-issue here. I am not used to thinking about smoking/non-smoking any more.

I have to go get some work done now, I will check back here in 3 hours. If plans totally change again and you guys want to meet tonight I have to know by then. I want to give myself at least 5 hours to get down to seattle as the border can easily take over an hour to get through, and who knows what the traffic will be like. Otherwise I am planning on tomorrow night.

Wednesday night is fine for me (I haven't looked at the MVP schedule lately - hopefully the summit doesn't go that late). I'll take a shuttle from the conf. to Nish's hotel. I don't have a laptop so I won't have my own net.access... I'll probably be able to bum someone's laptop for a few minutes at a time to check this forum, but just in case, you can reach me on my cell at [baleeted]. I'm flying out of LA tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon so I'll be settled in my hotel tomorrow evening. Anyone's welcome to call if you want to meet up. :) --Mike-- Visual C++ MVP  LINKS~!
