I would just like to remind the non-believers in the crowd that if you are going to argue against X, then please read the associated manual. As a non-believer, it gives you insight into the mind of the believer. Or it might convert you. Is your mind weak or strong? Read it and find out, instead of posting quasi intelligent posts. Do you dare? -- An eye for an eye will only make the world blind.

Between several rather horrible legal incidents and the new line of darwin bumper stickers running around town (jesus fish shooting darwin fish or roasting him on a spit). I find the actions reprehensible, the arguments reprehensible and the over-all insanity of that particular "growing" group absolutely frightening. I don't care what book you/they read, just don't threaten anyone else for believing otherwise. Personally, I think that applies to all books, everywhere, without exception. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I've been humbled many a time, here and elsewhere, by people who take a hot-headed rant and calmly correct me by filling in the details i'd been ignorant of or ignored. It's easy, especially when you're frustrated, to stand and yell "You're Wrong!", without having anything solid to back it up. Sadly, it's also easy to find any number of websites or blogs dedicated to producing pithy quotes or snobbish dismissals - ready fodder for frustrating those who would call you on your ignorance, while providing nothing of lasting value. But it's more work to pull your talking points from serious analysis, either for or against your topic of choice. Besides, using some third-rate comedian's one-liners may not make you look intelligent, but they're designed to get crowd support. :sigh:

Ian Darling The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity ... that such complexity can arise ... out of such simplicity ... is the most fabulous extraordinary idea ... once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened - it's just wonderful ... the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned - Douglas Adams

I have read it and it hasnt changed my opinion regarding the church one iota. Actually it has, I feel the church is even more useless than before. Anyway, its no good me sowing these seeds on stony ground, I'm sure the plank in my eye is way too big to pick the mote out of yours. Nunc est bibendum

Well, obviously you didn't understand what's written in the bible. God screws things up nearly all the time in the old testament, either to test the faith of his people, or to punish the sinners. (When I read the OT, I find it highly annoying that the people never learn. The people sin - God punishes. People asks for forgiveness - God forgives. Reiterate a thousand times, and you'll have the red thread of much of the OT. Had the bible been a novel, it would not have been a bestseller, because the reader would've given up all hope of the stupid Ashera and Baal worshipping fools! ;)) I'm not saying that I believe in this stuff, but I think I'm getting closer to actually understanding how believers think. However, I would be ignorant if I told you that I know exactly how believers think. Individuals have different perceptions, and thus different thoughts. But I'd like to think that there is a fairly broad mindset shared between Christians. This applies to most religions I think.
