Lo all like a lot of coder nerdies i'm pretty vacant when it comes to hardware. Ive got a asus a7s8x-mx motherboard (running sempron 2800 CPU) which takes a 8x AGP card the manual says its got to be a 1.5 Volt card and to only install a 1.5 volt card... Can I get some suggestions for suitable 8x graphics cards which fit the 1.5 Volt requirements? cheery Bryce --- To paraphrase Fred Dagg - the views expressed in this post are bloody good ones. --

8x AGP cards are .8 volt. 4x AGP cards are 1.5 volt. 1x and 2x cards use 3.3 volt signaling. Recheck your specs, most 8x cards will run 4x as well but some motherboards that are 8x (.8v) will not run 4x mode.

k, heres the link to to the motherboard[^] says "AGP 8X Technology AGP8X (AGP 3.0) is the next generation VGA interface specification that enables enhanced graphics performance with high bandwidth speeds up to 2.12GB/s and twice as fast as AGP4X." I looked at the sapphire 9600-xt and it seems nice...do you have a motherboard in mind you reckon would go well? Bryce, I looked up the specs on the A7S8X-MS motherboard and most any 8x AGP card should work with it. The 9600 is a good price for performance card.

It really is an 8x AGP slot that requires a 1.5 volt card. The sticker over the AGP slot said so.
