No, it is a clash of civilizations because that is what the people who are attacking us are fighting for. I think we should take that threat seriously. You are one of those who wishes to obfuscate that threat and lull the west into a deluded perspective about what exactly is at stake in this issue. Just because you don't care about which civilization wins doesn't mean that it isn't a clash of civilizations. No, you are helping to promote that misunderstanding. No action that our intelligence agencies or military have ever taken were done in a political vacume. The US spent the bulk of the 20th century saving the people of the world, including the middle east, from a return to true European imperialism. But that isn't inconsistent. Those nine judges were acting outside of their constitutional powers. They have no authority to decide whether something that is not in the constitution, and has not been decided on by our democratically elected legislators, should be legal or not. They are not empowerd to simply decide that something should be law just because they happen to be in favor of it. They are the judicial branch, not the legislative branch. That is what I am opposed to, not abortion itself. In any case, I was referring primarily to US foreign policy, not internal debates. Sorry for not being more explicite. So your country passed that (those) laws unconsitutionally. Did it do that with your approval? So you approve of some things and not others?

I suppose the overthrow of the government of Iran in 1955, the government in Guatemala in 1954, the government in Chile in the 1970s were all just accidents. Remember, all these governments were legitimately elected by their people. Saddam was a madman, he perpetrated crimes again civilians and he *must* be held responsible. He is hated in Muslim world more than in West. B/c when he was free in doing his evil acts, the whole world turned a blind eye. (Hint: Remember how he persecuted Shiites and Kurds AFTER Desert Storm???) But the invasion was Iraq was not based on ambition to bring Saddam to justice. It was based on WMD, the imminent threat to US, connection b/w Iraq and Al Qaeda, all of them turned out to be flat lies.

OK, so it was NOT a report but statements by various UN weapons inspectors who kept on sying they couldn't categorically state that Iraq had eliminated all WMDs. Everybody knew why the weapons inspectors worded their statements so negatively. It was US pressure.

It is only the US and Britain that looks stupid. And the support for war was far greater in the US than in Britain so we all know where the larger collection of idiots are. I was in the town of Montrose, Colorado in June. It is a little farming town in Western Colorado. On the day I was there, they buried a 20-year-old Marine who had died in Iraq who left behind a 10-year-old widow and a newborn son. It made me sick to read the news. Chicken-hawks like Dubya, Dick Cheney, etc., sent innocent young men to their deaths and you have the gall to support them. Of course you HAD to hide your name or nickname!
