Yesterday I became father again. Now I have two kids, Mohammad (4 years) and Fatima (1 day)! I'm very happy and excited that Allah sent me this gift. A. Riazi
Congrats! I cannot forget to congratulate you twice for choosing such nice names of your children. :) Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted - Einstein

Yes Reverend, we all know you are slightly involved in that process too ;-P Is that true that in the US "young parents who have just had a baby [...] often send out a card that says, "God has given us our first child"?

Nothing of what Stan says is ever funny. Most of it is simply bigoted or just plain unpleasent. Guy is happy t obe a father again - Stan insults him on his religion. Yea, Really fucking funny. Jonathan

Yeah, that wasn't a very Christian thing to say.... or maybe it was... damn this stuff gets confusing... "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

Reply 1: He's the one that posted the happy tidings in the soap box. Reply 2: His religion is a joke and deserves to be insulted. Reply 3: Multiculturalism (ie "Tolerance for all beliefs that are not Christian") also deserves to be insulted and at every possible opportunity. I was actually shooting for irony. In the sense that you can insult christians all the live long day, but just say something rude to a Muslim and see what you get. It is always so enligtening. "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

Actually, I'm pretty sure that is considered a violation of separation of church and state these days. "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

OK. Fair enough on that one. Perhaps the lounge would have been a better place to post. Still. Your views on Christianity make me sick. This world will certainly be fucked with attitudes like yours and probably deserves to be. Jon

Reply 2: His religion is a joke and deserves to be insulted. Reply 3: Multiculturalism (ie "Tolerance for all beliefs that are not Christian") also deserves to be insulted and at every possible opportunity. I am sorry. I thought your views are pretty clear. Perhaps I am the one in the wrong. I was always taught to have respect for others even in their religion are different. My Mother would certainly consider herself to be a Christian as would the rest of her side of the family. Although I gave up on much of this and see no point in debating it, my tolerance and respect for others is probably the most valuable Christian lesson I learnt from her. People are people. Children are a blessing for their parents and all those who are fortunate to take pleasure from their company whether they are Christian, Muslim, Jewish or whatever. I just can’t seem to qualify your statements against any of my memories of church or what I consider to be right. In fact I doubt even that my parish priest could understand your standpoint. Jon

Actually, so was I, kinda. My comment was what passes for sarcasm - a close cousin to irony. Still, I think you were a little heavy handed. In any case, who (tell the truth now) really gives a fuck that he had another kid, regardless of what you think he'll encourage him to do later in life.

I think that not holding Muslims to precisely the same standards that I hold Christians would be the act of a bigot. I never pass up an opportunity to remind Muslims of the violence that is being done in the name of their religion. I would do precisely the same for any Chrisitan that acted in the same way. But, we do not live in a world that is even in the most remote sense threatened by Christians or their beliefs. We do live in a world where secularism is bulldozing down every last vestage of western civilization and rebuilding everything in its own image. And we live in a world where thousands are murdered in the name of Islam. I simply believe in pointing those facts out at every opportunity. And have no fucking apology to make for it. My critics can bite me. "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."
