IRC Channel

Would it not be quite interesting/useful if there was a CP IRC channel? That is of course assuming that one does not already exist, and I have not been too stupid/blind/foolish to miss it.

Good grief NOOooooooo!!!111 An IRC channel would sux0r teh big!!111 Seriously... This has been suggested many times and rejected many times for good reasons. Mainly - Most people here really don't have the time to waste on IRC channels. Also, people would abuse it. For example, many people here answer questions on the programming forums. I, personally, would not want to go through a chat with someone to answer their questions. When I answer a question I want the answer to be available to everyone, not just the person at the other end of the chat. If the answer is available to all then there is the chance that someone is not so lazy and will use the search function. If the answer is not available on CP then everybody loses.
