As I did a Johnny Paycheck* last week, I'm going back to contracting. Anyone in the UK recommend or otherwise particular agencies for C++ (primarily VC++) contract work? Good or bad experiences welcome... Steve S *For those unfamiliar with the gentleman in question, he had a hit in the country charts with "Take This Job And Shove It" .... I'm even-tempered, most of the time, but there are times to draw a line firmly in the sand, and deck the first b*****d to cross it, albeit metaphorically...

Whereabouts in the UK are you wanting to work? Most of the agencies I know about are for C++ in a gaming capacity. Such as www.opmjobs.com Swaying to the Rhythm of the New World Order.

Ideally the Midlands, for the time being. Doesn't help though, as I don't do games; never have, and almost certainly never will. Being colour-blind doesn't help, nor does getting motion sickness watching someone else play Quake III :( Steve S

I've been wondering how to find contracting work in the UK as well, but as an American with limited experience working in the EU I'm sure that you've had an easier time finding work than I could provide. (Have you considered Luxembourg?) I have managed to get on the list for a company called New Wave Resourcing. The do C# placement, but a lot of positions require C++ as well. Let me know if you'd like more information. And let me know if you find a company in the UK that is keen enough for MFC experts that they're willing have them imported from across the pond.
