what QA software to use??

we are a small software team of around 10 people and we are thinking of hiring QA people. Any ideas on how to start off a QA team since i have no idea about the QA tools being used in the market or what kind of expertise a candidate should have. Any ideas on how to go on about this?? we are basically working on Visual C++ 6.0 for the core part and Visual basic 6.0 for the GUI part. Also are there any books on this topic both specific to these tools and somewhat general books?? Also i've heard of PC-lint any one using that?? Thanks for your help.

I cannot say much about Q/A but CPPUNIT testing framework is used by most developers to unit test thier code. The integration with VC6 is also very easy. :) Take a very good care of Yourself. Sayed Ahmad Mursil
