Hmmmmmm wonder whats going to come of these two stories. Russian cooperation in removing some high explosives[^] And as for bias by CBS against Bush. Note the timing. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3493-2004Oct27.html[^] Sort of interesting reading. CBS finds out aproximately 377 tons out of an estimated 1,000,000 tons of munitions in Iraq and Kerry wants to make it an enourmous issue. When the whole story is told, who wants to bet we find out the explosives were moved prior to the war? Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?

Doug Goulden wrote: Russian cooperation in removing some high explosives[^] And as for bias by CBS against Bush. Note the timing. Yep, it's sad how the media is becoming more and more biased. First, FoxNews, now CBS, what's next, PBS? Oh, and the Washington Times is also biased for Bush... but I suspect you knew that. Doug Goulden wrote: Sort of interesting reading. When the whole story is told, who wants to bet we find out the explosives were moved prior to the war? Didn't we have satellites watching over Iraq before the invasion? How could that many explosives be moved without us knowing? It's not like they can all fit in the trunk of a car. Maybe Bush was on vacation and didn't bother to read the memo. :) Regards, Alvaro

With our troops out there 377 tons out of a million is still too much. It is just more evidence that this administration was not as prepared as it said. taken from first article: A small portion of Iraq's 650,000 tons to 1 million tons of conventional arms that were found after the war were looted after the U.S.-led invasion, Mr. Shaw said. Russia was Iraq's largest foreign supplier of weaponry, he said. Though i do not agree with everything Kerry says i do agree that Bush had no plans to maintain order and peace. This just means we're being attacked with weapons that were already out of harms way. On top of that, a new FBI investigation involving Haliburton has just begun. What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. He got a hell of a deal.... they were only dropped once before he got them. K(arl) wrote: Are you pretending 1,000,000 tons of munitions are unaccounted and in the wild? No.... I'm just saying that its been reported that the US has gotten control of or destroyed about 400,000 tons of munitions since the start of the war. There are estimates that there were possibly 1 million tons or so in the country. In all seriousness the whole freaking country is one big weapons smorgasbord. Russians, Americans, Germans, French, Chinese..... I may be missing a few Unfortunately, greed is not a virtue limited to any one group of people. It would seem there was no shortage of people willing to arm Saddam for the right price. Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?

Point being: Percentage is a good measure to assess the problems in guarding the ammunition, but bad at assessing the danger of the stuff getting stolen (whole point of my prev post)
