Righties??

Lurking over discussions here, something struck my mind: A person who believes in an ideology which is politicaly on the left is called a lefty (BTW: is it pejorative in English?) Does the word "righty" exists? If not why? In French, "gauchiste" exists (and is a bit pejorative), "droitiste" does not. Callixte.[^]

People on the left have a tendency to use the term 'moron'. Then wonder why their message doesn't ever seem to get through. "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." Albert Einstein Dave

The closest I can come up with is: Right-wing nut job Probably because RWNJ has a bit of meanace mixed in with random acts. While a lefty can be safely ignored to rant and rave at the inequalities of different types of soup (or what ever it is they rant and rave about)

Callixte. wrote: Does the word "righty" exists? In baseball - yes. A pitcher is described as a "lefty" or a "southpaw" or a "righty". Because of various reasons - some valid - some not - a good southpaw pitcher can command a larger salary than a righty of equal talent due to numbers - there simply isn't as many lefties as righties. RWNJ heheh that must rank right up there with BHL (bleeding heart liberal), Pinko-Commie, and AHLD (aging hippy liberal douche). ;P

Lefties who call righties morons are sadly lost in their cause. You can't save starving Ethiopians with one hand and slap a right-winger over the head with the other. regards, Paul Watson South Africa Michael Dunn wrote: "except the sod who voted this a 1, NO SOUP FOR YOU" Crikey! ain't life grand?

Besides, Hendrix was left handed. Me, Stan and Hendrix. What a team. Christian I have several lifelong friends that are New Yorkers but I have always gravitated toward the weirdo's. - Richard Stringer

Paul Watson wrote: You can't save starving Ethiopians with one hand and slap a right-winger over the head with the other. Oh c'mon, why not? :-D If you do it hard enough, he'll lie unconscious while you finish feeding the Ethiopian and then you can run away before the right-winger comes back with his semi-automatic assault rifle. :) Regards, Alvaro

If you ever make it to the States, tune in to Air America Radio[^]. If you're lucky, you'll get to listen to Ed Schultz[^] great show -- basically the Rush Limbaugh of progressive talk radio (minus the BS). He mentions "Righties" all the time. Regards, Alvaro
