There was this plea for help at this programming site I frequent about SP2. Here's an excerpt:

This few months when using XP SP2 I'm facing many many problems.

    1. Certain website do not support SP2 IE browser.
      ...
    2. Certain porn picture sites do not support SP2 IE browser. (This is the most important point!)

 :sigh: And people wonder why IE is insecure. :sigh:

Perhaps secure wasn't the best word to use. What I meant was porn sites are the biggest perpetrators of malware and spywares.

Yes. A former neighbor bought a laptop for that purpose, within a week it was unusable because of malware. SP2 improved things, slightly. Never put Firefox on it, didn't care to deal with questions should a page not work... :~

Ah ok, gotcha. So, what kinda of porn sites? Pay sites, erotica, free porn sites, illegal pornography? I'd imagine the pay-sites and erotica networks are pretty free of malware since they do such good business and don't need to free-load. Free porn sites though I imagine would try and hit you with all they can to recoup the free porn they give away? I am just trying to figure out where you got this info. From a study or your own survey? What about sites that host hacks, cracks and keys? Every time I have visited one of those a barrage of virus warnings pop-up. Nasty places (and full of porn ads too it seems). regards, Paul Watson South Africa The Code Project Pope Pius II said "The only prescription is more cowbell. "

what kinda of porn sites? The free ones. Not too many I know would pay for stuff over the internet, since it'a all supposed to be free. I am just trying to figure out where you got this info. From a study or your own survey? From fixing other people's Machine ;) What about sites that host hacks, cracks and keys? Yeah, those too. But I thought it was funny and sad that the most inportant reason the chap complained about SP2 was because he couldn't surf porn anymore.
