I'm sure everyone heard about the fan who took out a second mortgage on his home to pay for Superbowl tickets. If you thought that was a little extreme ... think again http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=573&ncid=757&e=1&u=/nm/20050208/od_nm/odd_testicles_dc[^] "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

As the headline states, at least he won't be fathering any more fans. Poking around in the Oddly Enough section: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050207/od_nm/odd_germany_mercedes_dc&e=8&ncid=757[^] "When you consider that the skins of four to 15 cows are needed for each car this means thousands of cows will be spared," said PETA researcher Edmund Haferbeck. "This is a huge victory for animal rights." If they wouldn't have bought the cars with the leather seats in the first place then how exactly are they saving cows (which would be killed for the leather industry anyway, not for Mercedes)? I won't buy your product unless you sell one where you don't kill x animal isn't saving anything. I've never been able to understand that line of thinking. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=573&ncid=757&e=10&u=/nm/20050207/od_nm/odd_australia_pizza_dc[^] http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=573&ncid=757&e=2&u=/nm/20050208/od_nm/odd_pizza_dc[^] A common occurance? :wtf:

Don't ask me about leather seats...its not as though I could afford them anyway...:) I don't really care for PETA....their cause is noble but they makes asses of themselves sometimes by putting forth ridiculous arguments. Like the one on hand, the leather is going to be made regardless...its going to take a long time for the impact of one company lowering its orders to impact the leather industry. I think this should be encouraged. It would definately improve my opinion of football fans.

Wales comes back in the circle of the best nations since a few years. Do you remind how Wales scared NZ and England during RWC 2003? They improve each year, they have great players and they are building a team rather than a collection of players. Actually, their victory over England isn't such a big shock. I wouldn't be surprized if this year's 6 nations tournament would be won either by Ireland or Wales.

Err..please tell me you're not contemplating anything radical to celebrate this win ;) "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."
