Help anyone. I setup IIS this last week and I got a MTS Transaction server failed to load error. I looked up the error on the internet on Microsoft and yes there is a fix. But after getting everything setup and loaded I re-booted the computer Windows98 with all the security upgrades etc. And it corrupted my Explorer.exe. It refused to run. So I had to re-build my system to get rid of the error. So I wasnt sure it was IIs server that did it. I had a fresh build of 98 on my machine, and everything was perfect. No extras etc. So I installed IIS server and bang it did it again. Let me tell you trying to do class homework for college and having to re-build you system 2 times in one week is a bummer. Anyone know why this is happening? It may be that my computer is and Hewlett Packard with a custom build of 98. Anyone know whats happening here? I'd like to be able to get this working so I can learn Interdev. 450 mhz HP Pavillion 20 Gig HD space 64 MB Video running DX 8 Voodoo5 IE6 10/100 Fast Eithernet connection. Cable modem. JLS Student/Part time programmer Major Programming.

I am not sure IIS even installs on Win 98. What you need is PWS which comes on the Win 98 SE CDROMs Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org If you don't find me on CP, I'll be at Bob's HungOut

PWS IS IIS 4.0 (actually a subset). Unfortunately IIS 5.0 doesn't come in a scaled down PWS version so that's not an option. You should be able to get it working, though. Download from the NT Option Pack on Microsoft. I can post a link if you need it.
