I was watching the Discovery channel the other night and an advert came up for the "Greatest American" poll. One of the nominees was Albert Einstein, given he was born in Germany I decided to have a look see who else was nominated. Greatest American Poll[^] Andrew Carnegie - Scottish Albert Einstein - German Mel Gibson - Australian Alexander Hamilton - was born on the West Indies island of Nevis. Arnold Schwarzenegger - Austrian Gary

The CBC did the same thing for the greatest Canadian[^]. IMO they picked the wrong guy. Terry Fox and Frederick Banting should have been the top two.

Yeah, everyone in my house voted for Terry Fox. Take the poll again in a few years when the baby boomers have died off and you won't find Tommy Douglas at the top of the list anymore I gurantee it. When did health care become such an all-consuming obsession in this country? The whole thing is a bit absurd, the politicians cater to it, so does the media, fact is that for 99% of the populace the health care system works just fine, for the 1% that it doesn't we get 90% of the air time during an election.

It's the only thing the socialist have absolute control over, and they will make damned sure they don't loose control. Just imagine if someone actually paid to have their health looked after instead of waiting 2 years for an MRI. Scandalous!!!

Two other Americans. Normally a Mummy and a Daddy. Michael Martin Australia "I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So i had to leave the place as soon as possible." - Mr.Prakash 24/04/2004
