I hate CP sometimes

No, not really, but ARRRRRRG. Anyways, I visited the VC++ forum for the first time in a while, and a guy asked a question about streaming video from two cameras, and what APIs he should use. Since I have a bit of experience in the area and nobody had answered him, I decided I'd give him a good answer. So I spent my 20 minutes writing my response, and looking up some information for him, and editing/previewing it to make sure it wouldn't confuse him, then I hit submit. Fuck. I forgot to copy my message to the clipboard first, since I haven't posted here in a while. And what does CP do but go to a "page not found" error. Hit Back, no text in the text box. Shit. So I'm thinking I should still at least respond, albeit with a not-so-detailed response, since I didn't want to spend the same 20 minutes writing it all down again. Blah blah, I make a much crappier response, but a pretty good one still (took about 7 minutes). Hit submit again, and FUCK, I still forgot to copy the goddamned response to the clipboard, and I still got the same "page not found" error. FUCK FUCK FUCK. 30 minutes wasted, and still I didn't get the guy any help.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: To top it all off, I *almost* forgot to copy this message to the clipboard. [edit]and of course it worked first time[/edit] <irony> Sorry, had to get it off my chest. Chris Richardson

I feel your pain, that is the only thing that gets to me when Code Project starts playing up. I copy messages to the clipboard sometimes, but not always. It sometimes helps for me if I immediately hit stop on all my browser windows, tell IE to go offline, then press back on the error page. 8 times out of 10 the message will still be there.

David Wulff wrote: I feel your pain, that is the only thing that gets to me when Code Project starts playing up Same here. The server load issues that most people complain about don't bug me at all. I'm just happy when CP is working. Losing a message that took a lot of time and research to compose is really the ultimate shitty bug. It completely demotivates you to even respond. Oh well though, I'm still thankful for CP being here at all (really, I'm not usually a big complainer). At least I learned a good tip from this. Thanks :) :absinthe: Chris Richardson

It's not just CP, sites like Orkut have the same problem :-) I always subconsciously copy the text to the clipboard before submitting it.

I always used to do that every time I submitted a form. If I had more than one textarea with a lot of writing in I would paste them all into seperate notepad windows. I blame broadband for making me lose that habit. :(
