Windows Hairball Player

Just a rant of disgust at the fact that when editing a files information in WiMP (Windows Media Player) it does not actually edit the source file but actually WiMP's libary database. i.e. If I import some files and see that someone mispelt an artists name and I edit them all (with the handy Edit Selection) and then look at the MP3 in another MP3 player nothing has changed. Bloody ridiculous! Or maybe I have missed a setting in WiMP... anyone? regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge "In other words, the developer is dealing with an elephant, the accountant is dealing with a bunny rabbit." by Stan Shannon - 16/10/2001

I don't know as I only use WiMP when I double-click on something and it starts automatically. But having said that I do have my very own slanderous opinions that I haven't sampled on anyone so don't know if it will insult them. So without further ado here it is (fuck the softons) - Microsoft don't want to allow changes made to a file in their tool to show up in another tool. Why would anyone use a tool not made by Microsoft for use on Microsoft OS in the first place? ;P Michael Martin Pegasystems Pty Ltd Australia martm@pegasystems.com +61 413-004-018 "Don't belong. Why would anyone use a tool not made by Microsoft for use on Microsoft OS in the first place? :omg: you are right! What was I thinking. I love you WiMP! ;) Actually what I get annoyed with as well is that it does not affect the physical file names and lets face it a lot of us have poorly named MP3 collections. I am going to send my Wish through to MS right now :) The odd thing is the reason why I use WiMP is because it has such a good Playlist and Media Library feature. The problem I mentioned is the only glaring gripe I have with the software (apart from the fact that it looks like a cheap plasticine model) that I haven't sampled on anyone so don't know if it will insult them I feel honoured and not at all insulted Michael :-D regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge "In other words, the developer is dealing with an elephant, the accountant is dealing with a bunny rabbit." by Stan Shannon - 16/10/2001
