How to Sell a Pseudoscience[^] I've had this filed under Favorites>Tools in IE for a while now :)

Ian Darling The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity ... that such complexity can arise ... out of such simplicity ... is the most fabulous extraordinary idea ... once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened - it's just wonderful ... the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned - Douglas Adams

Nice article. I'm going to print it out and have my son read it. Science works best when we are thoughtful and critical and scrutinize claims carefully. Science is only as good as those people doing the science. And as a counterpoint, the flip side of this is that there are people very, very good at convincing you that something isn't science, or doesn't have any value, or is psuedo-science. And these people have credentials too. Marc My website

Marc Clifton wrote: Science is only as good as those people doing the science. This is a misleading half-truth. The fact that science has been spectacularly successful in generating new knowledge whereas every other tradition has stagnated is not because science has been lucky in attracting talented knowledge seekers, whereas other traditions have been unlucky. The greater success is because of the superiority of the scientific method. John Carson "The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason." Benjamin Franklin
