Awards for this week
-
Just wondering if we should have some honourary awards for this week. Current category suggestions are: - Most helpful - Most unhelpful - Most obscure poster - Most annoying - The Funny Bastard Award I was thinking of adding 'Most offensive' but I really don't think I should be encouraging you ;) cheers, Chris Maunder (CodeProject)

Recognition is always good for the ego, even if it's for being Most Annoying (hey, at least you're being recognized). I say give it whirl. Jon Sagara "After all is said and done, usually more is said than done." -- Unknown

The agony of choice - which one should I shoot for ? I notice 'Most Helpful' has exited stage left. I was surprised it lasted so long, it was obviously not being taken seriously. Christian After all, there's nothing wrong with an elite as long as I'm allowed to be part of it!! - Mike Burston Oct 23, 2001

Nish gets that one. :) "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001
I am obviously missing something very obvious about the nick [Busterboy], but for the life of me I have no clue what it is. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork? It's kinda like Chris' deep-seated hatred of the word gotten. Nish's nick (the whole thing) just bugs me. If he renamed himself something like Kandar - Vanquisher of Virgins, it would be much easier to take. Ok I get you have a problem with it and thats fine, I have a problem with privacy nuts, life goes on. But what does Busterboy mean? Or is it simply a unexplainable dislike of the name? Kandar - Vanquisher of Virgins Are BusterBoy and that related then? i.e. BusterBoy means having a sick perverted sexual prediliction revolving around virgins that some guys have? Hey if you can explain I can join the cause against the nick :-D (not that you need much help making it clear lol) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork? I do! 100.9903 Stormfront "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge

I don't know what Busterboy means, but it smacks of homosexuality. I'm just bothered by the whole thing. :) "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001
Have you looked for busterboy at google? It's amazing :omg:

I take it to be a play on words, kind of making fun of himself by calling himself a buster. Nish? Jon Sagara Sonork ID 100.9999 "After all is said and done, usually more is said than done." -- Unknown

Well I dont know why everyone is always bothered about my nick, my sig, my posts :-) :-) Anyway, I used to use BusterBoy as my IRC nick 3-4 years ago. I don't know why I chose that name. I must have got it from GhostBusters. Don't remember. Ever since then that nick has stuck. By the way Jon, 100.9999 is a super cool nick :-) Nish You can check out my web site -> www.busterboy.org Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain

Nish is a BIG fan of Goran IvanisevicWell, "Nish" sounds like you're small of stature and can easily have oyur ass kicked, even by a girl. "BusterBoy" has a dual implication of youth (again indicating a girl could easily kick your ass), and a certain sexual prefernce that isn't considered normal (again, implying that even a girl could kick your ass). You need something more manly, something that promotes respect, awe, and yes, even fear among your peers. Your user ID by it's very nature attracts a rowdier crowd, simply because they know girls that could probably kick your ass, and would probably pay to watch it being done. I don't really care what you called yourself on IRC four years ago, and it certainly isn't within the context of the in-your-face attitude that I'm trying to foster here on CodeProject (this attitude is not necessarily endorsed by management, but hey, they gave me the avenue, and I'm certainly walking down that road). Using your real name would have enabled you to slip under my radar without bing noticed. Of course, you could be plagued by really being named "Nish", and for that, your parents should have *their* asses kicked (yes, by a girl). If that is indeed the case, even changing your name to Alice would be preferrable. Then there's the status thing. *NOBODY* wants to be out-posted on CP by someone whose user ID reminds them of the sound you'd hear when you step in a big pile of dog crap in bare feet. As a matter of fact, we could probably start using your User ID as a deragatory term denoting feminity where none should be logically be sought or found, a general distatste for even bleeding edge normalcy, and someone who actually owns a Ford Pinto and thinks it's "a great car". I hope this helps you understand my views, and convinces you to change your user ID to something more, ummmm, well, just *more*.
