I've already started seeing a few articles and quotes here and there (though nothing from the white house) although avoiding the issue of the crime, commending him for not "lying" in his past statements. Karl Rove always said "I never revealed her 'name' to the press." As his statements now show, when he revealed her to the press, he referred to her as "the wife of ..." therefore he never said her "name." That dance is awfully familiar and suprisingly similar to the side they make fun of. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. it'll be a treat to see just how finely all those self-proclaimed patriots can parse the applicable laws and how delicately they can finesse the ethical issues as they try to defend Karl and his boss - and they will. to double the fun, every time they open their mouths, apply The Hillary Test: would they parse, mince, duck and weave as carefully to prove the accused's innocence if Hillary Clinton was accused of outing a CIA agent who was working on national security matters, just to try to discredit the agent's husband ? of course we all know the answer, but it'll be a delight to see them prove it over and over again. dance, my pretties. dance! Democrats give other Democrats the benefit of the doubt and give no such leeway to Republicans. Republicans give other Republicans the benefit of the doubt and give no such leeway to Democrats. Why don't we all try to let the investigation finish before jumping to conclusions for once.

Saying that a person's wife is something may not technically be 'giving her name', but it's much too close for comfort. The intent of the law would seem to be to protect the identity of clandestine agents. Identifying someone by a unique relationship is as much revealing 'identity' as spelling out their name. If Rove did this, then he should pay the price. That said, I favor waiting for the special prosecutor to actually file specific charges (should he determine that a crime was indeed committed) rather than reacting to yet another media frenzy. Here's a response you can predict from at least one CP regular: (can you guess who?) Rove is a right-wing capitalist like me. He's no Marxist. This means that it doesn't matter how dirty, corrupt, unethical, or sinister he is. He's got my full support. The left is simply trying to bring him down because he's a conservative. :sigh: Alvaro

Actually, I don't even need to do that much. Rove is not only not a traitor, he hasn't even broken the law - even he did whay you guys are claiming he did, which he didn't. Why would Rove let Cooper reveal him as the source, but not Miller? Millter and the times are obviously trying to cover up the real source because they don't want any of us to know who it is. It if were, in fact, Rove, they would have been shouting it from the rafters during the election. BTW, if any of you lefties want to find a traitor, you need go no further than your bathroom mirror.
