securing directory with forms authentication
-
i'm trying to use forms authentication to secure some files. we switched from listing each file separately in web.config to securing the entire directory, but now, it doesn't prompt for the login page when trying to access a protected page. it works fine while restricting each page individually. here is the entry in web.config, any ideas?? thanks

Hi there, Could not see anything, next time you should remember to tick the checkbox "Do not ..." below the text editor. Are you sure that the unauthenticated users can access the web page .aspx in the folder specified in the path attribute of the location entry in the web config file? If you only specify the folder name in the path attribute, then you need to make sure the folder is placed at the root of the web application. You can also try with another work-around solution is to place another web.config file in the folder which you want to protect.
