Welcome!

Well, I'm not going to Seattle next week, but I just wanted to be the first to post here! ;P Seriously, if there are CPians that live somewhere in Mexico (or in the US close to the Mexican border), it would be nice to organize a get-together one day. So, anyone? -- LuisR

How close are you to Acupulco? I might take vacation there sometime between now and the time I die:sigh: Seriously though, my wife teaches Spanish here in the states so we do plan to take several trips there so she can stay up with her native speaking, I'll let you know if we ever come around:-D ------------------------------------- Do not do what has already been done.

I live in Chihuahua, at the very north, about 200 miles south of El Paso, TX. Here in Chihuahua we have a big famous waterfall (Basaseachi) or the Copper Canyon... we have the Tarahumaras... it's also a nice place to visit! :) But sure, let me know if you come down here, and we might just arrange something! -- LuisR

Michael Martin wrote: Your town is named after a dog? Not according to this[^]: The name derives from the Nahuatl Xicuahua, meaning "dry, sandy place". The name itself is older than the Spanish conquest of Mexico, however. But searching for the dog[^], it doesn't say what the name means. Maybe, if it's thought to come from the Aztecs, the name of the dog means the same than the name of the city. Who knows.... and who cares? ;P -- LuisR
