What all would you troubleshoot if your mouse (Logitech MX500 LED mouse) started locking up sporadically? No mouse motion, no button response. LED still shining. I've found that unplugging it and replugging it (it is USB) will temporarily fix the problem. It may fix it for 5 minutes to 4 hours. I've trimmed all unnecessary tasks in Task Manager, looked into 'Run' in Regedit and cleaned that up a bit, but nothing looked wrong, and cleaned the dust-bunnies out from in front of the LED. The problem even recurred when I had the mouse plugged into another USB port after doing all that. What else, or does it sound like the mouse is ready to die? Thanks, David (running Win2000 Pro on AMD box)

do you have a 2nd pc to test the mouse on? That'd help localise the problem. You could try using a differnt mouse as well.

I don't have either, unfortunately. Thanks for replying, though. David
