Do you guys get a lot of spam e-mail? I seem to get more from posting on CP. Could the spambots be sweeping CP? Or is it just the old NG sh*t that is haunting me? If I could get my hands on the people writing spambots... :mad: Cheers,

Sign up for a free email account at Yahoo! or Hotmail. Then, when you post your email address on a public site or some company wants your email address, give them that address. They both have pretty good spam blocking capabilities. Then, you can give your real email address only to people you know. Jon Sagara What about :bob:?

WEll I have found that people send spam to an yahoo address of mine which I use only at CP. Sadly I forward the yahoo mails to my office ID. Thus I get all the spam. My Hotmail account gets a lot of Spam, but that is to be expected. I've started to get a lot more spam to my personal address but that's my own fault for subscribing to Yahoo Groups. I must however congratulate Chris for CodeProject's anti-spam measures, the address I post to CP with has never received a single spam message. Nice one Chris. Michael :-)

I think CP is rather safe compared to newsgroups. Anyway, spam is not all bad. Apart from all "Revolutionary Home Based Business", "We Guarantee to add 1 to 3 inchs to Penis", "Banks Compete!! You Win!!! Free Instant $$$" and "[CodeProject] Newsletter (4 Feb 2002) :)" just from todays harvest, sometimes you find something really useful (recited from memory): "... Scientists have perfected a drug that will increase your ejection by 581%!!! Not only will the amount of fluid be highly increased, you will also shoot longer. ... This will surly impress all your female friends." Bet it will. I wonder how many men have this problem (not to ask how many women)? X| /moliate
