The most fun I've ever had was catching an intruder on a network. Tracking that intruder back through some clever twists he took and then to his own WAN IP. After a few calls and emails the owner of the business calls and tells me it was an old employee that was stealing sales leads off the real estate server. What I enjoyed most about that was the process. I never really knew for sure if I'd be able to track the IP back to it's origin. I had to set a series of tools up and each tool required he visit one more time and then one more time and so on... It truly is amazing how much of an information trail you leave on the internet from the sites you visit. If you really want to be anonymous *DO NOT* create accounts on any type of message board or forum. Especially one that keeps really good logs that can go back and get historical data on IP addresses. All that aside it is fun. But not nearly so fun as writing an application for a planetarium that did constellations and things like that. Some time I'm going to pick your brain on something. I'd love to write something that would generate (using real lights) the constellations on a ceiling in my sons room. I have no ide if it's possible or not (hardware wise) but that would be fun. I can do the network entrapment stuff but programming is what I live for. Well programming, my wife, my kids and SUPER GOOD TACOS. - Rex

Sounds like that l33t Hax0r got busted. I bet that was fun.

Writing the software for that kind of thing would be alot of fun, but making something with lights would be very hard, because you would need some way to focus the lights onto the ceiling using lenses. I could help you write software to draw the constellations, and you could use a projector like you would use for a powerpoint presentation to display it if you want, but the easiest thing would probably be to buy a pre-made constellation projector, like this: Space Theater Planetarium[^] But, i would be glad to help if you decide to make something. Sometimes making things like that can be alot more satisfying than buying pre-made ones.

Believe me, code-frog is serious when he says he will get your ip, even if you have a proxy.
Just because of a silly posting? I wonder why the most here - including me - haven't been banned yet! :~ Greetings, Ingo ------------------------------ PROST Roleplaying Game

Believe me, Pumpkinhead is serious when he says code-frog is serious when he says he will get your ip, even if you have a proxy. He himself was busted like that a few months back. :) PS: Pumpkinhead, to his credit, is now a reformed guy now. Cheers, Vikram.

What the hell, I hereby deputize Rex A Winn Jr, aka code-frog to hunt down and kill the varmints. Cheers, Vikram.

Okay, it wasn't funny the first time. Why don't you stop now before we get your IP address (which is a trivial thing to do) look you up here at www.arin.net. Do a recursive dig@ in Linux and report you to your ISP for internet abuse which is easy to do. This is something I really enjoy doing and will consider with your next abuse of this site. Have a nice day. :rose:

I have to admit I find it a bit odd that you jump on our case for getting upset over programming questions in the lounge, but yet you also threaten crap like this over and over regarding stupid posts. Kinda seems like double standards don't ya think? :) Besides, if this guy became a real problem I'm sure Chris would take care of it anyway. Jeremy Falcon

Jeremy this reply is so full of crap I'm not sure how to take it seriously. "Jumpon your case?" do a search on a post titled "owning up" and tell mewhere I jumped on anyone's case. That should deal with thedouble-standards. I really don't give a rats ass what people do. Whenothers complained I tried to help. I will not do that again. {THE REST OF MY COMMENTS WERE REMOVED BY ME, ALTHOUGH ACCURATE THEY ARE EMOTIONAL}

You've always complained about the lounge "being friendly only if you follow our rules", etc.

Then why threat in the first place? Really, if you don't see the correlation it's becuase you're not allowing yourself to. Jeremy Falcon

"When others complained I tried to help. I will not do that again. You guys are on your own. I can do things to help and I won't. One less thing for me to do. This is about the most chicken-shit thing I've seen come out of your keyboard." That's what you call accurate, eh? You really are full of yourself. Jeremy Falcon

And since I'm bored, I've tracked down *real* offending emails way before I met you. And, I'm sure there's more poeple on CP who can do the same. So please, cut the knight in shining armor act. Jeremy Falcon

So you don't have the balls to let everyone on CP know you're an ass? Look at the pot calling the tea kettle black. Jeremy Falcon

Also, you're all talk Rex. I thought better of you, but I've learned. When it came time for you man up, you wouldn't. You can't even say stuff publicy, and yet you call me names about being scared. Just about everyone on CP knows I'm an asshole - just ask 'em. Why? It's call having enough sack to be who you are when people know about it. Jeremy Falcon

Got news for you pal. I've had to hold my daughters blood in her. I've had to revive her from the dead. I've had to spend 2 years sleeping at most 4 hours a night while I vigilantly watched over her life. Your words are pretty empty to me. I've been through hell and came out changed. You don't know the measure of a man or at least if you did you wouldn't confine it to genetalia. I'm not going to resort to name calling or anything else. If you want to talk courage I could tell you stories that would make you cry yourself to sleep. Your words have no affect on me at all and if you think I'm all talk you simply don't listen. But just to satisfy your genetalia here you go:
Jeremy,
CP is a place I totally love. I like being there, I
like visiting I like everything about the experience. I
made a mistake there with programming questions and for
the record I'll not ever ask anything at all programming
related ever again in the lounge.
Now let me say this. Some people liked me telling
the guy to leave off with test posting and some people
(like you) didn't. For me I'd rather just leave it be
from now on. I won't do anything.
So you might be asking why did I do it in the first
