    Dear Friends: I have compiled a similar control with almost the same functionality in C rather than in C++ using the lcc-win32 compiler system. Just one fact: Exe size: 6 688 bytes Exe size with MFC: 1 372 241 bytes I can post the code here if there is interest in this. It is only 300 lines long, and most of it was automatically generated by the lcc-win32 IDE. Yes, of course this is not important now. I have a machine with 512 MB of RAM. With MFC I will be able to get swapping again! With lcc-win32 it would be impossible. http://www.cs.virginia.edu/é lcc-win32. The compiler system is free of charge.

      Sorry, I forgot to mention which C++ example was. It is the ShowWindowTree example in this same code project.
